If The Congresbury Arms were a gemstone, it would be a diamond. Our stay was made very comfortable by the staff who are considerate of their customer needs. The food-amazing, and our very comfortable room. We booked directly with the hotel and were not disappointed.

A member of our party is registered as blind. We were very impressed with the excellent service by both evening and morning staff. When breakfast and dinner was served staff explained exactly what and where everything was, which was so thoughtful and appreciative. The stay was very enjoyable for all of us.

The Congresbury Arms is an old pub, beautifully converted into a restaurant and rooms. We stayed in the Wedmore, which was comfortable and well-furnished. Dinner was excellent, as was breakfast.

Spot on venue, you can park right outside and be welcomed warmly. Good standard of room with complimentary bottles of water (so important) plus nuts, sweeties and cake. The beer served is perfect and the food is excellent, what more could I ask for?The cost of B &B is great value and I almost forgot to add that breakfast was superb and its served at the table, none of that diy shenanigans! I will be back.

What a great place! An independent inn of the highest quality. The room was beautifully styled and with nice touches - kilner jars with jelly beans, and home-made flapjack and a delicious home-made spicy nut mix.Importantly, everything worked! The bed was a little soft for me but I still slept well.I'd recommend a room at the back though as the traffic noise after about 5.30 a.m. is noticeable. The food (and menu in general) was delightful. An unexpected treat was the bread and dipping oil/vinegar and an amuse bouche. I chose one of the vegetarian options - beetroot/cheese gnocchi and seared vegetables with a generous side of buttered greens. It's great when the staff are willing to make time for conversation or actively initiate it - especially when you are a sole traveller;that was very evident from everyone I interacted with.I'd easily recommend The Congresbury Arms - they've nailed it.However, I am well aware that this hasn't happened by accident - great training, well-selected people who enjoy their jobs and seem to work as a happy team, and a very good kitchen.

We needed an overnight stop to break the long journey from Liverpool to Wadebridge in Cornwall. Reading the reviews and looking on the site made us choose the Congresbury Arms. From the moment we were welcomed we had nothing but high -quality, friendly service.Dinner was very good (red wine jus on my wife’s lamb dish was a little too strong in taste), room was excellent, breakfast was excellent. All in all a delightful stay.

The reason for staying at the Congresbury Arms was to enjoy a celebration family lunch, so we tacked on a room to relax in the. area the next day. Quite simplyin so many ways this is a space that really hugs you and makes one feel special.

We just spent a night as we were attending a family for our great-nephew. We wanted to check in early and so they had our room ready at 11 am. All the staff were extremely friendly from the reception to the bar staff. The room was very clean and tidy. The breakfast was superb and so I could highly recommend this lovely village pub.

Extremely pleasant stay from start to finish. Warm and friendly welcome, comfortable and well-appointed room, very quiet in spite of overlooking a main road. Equally good experience in the dining room, both in the evening and at breakfast, with lots of choice, locally-sourced food and helpful staff.

We arrived late and they went out of their way to make sure we had something to eat after the restaurant had closed. The room was very clean and comfortable and quiet too.The food in the restaurant was the amazing and huge compliments to the chef. (as were the breakfasts!) We’ve stayed here before and will stay again. The staff are young, efficient, friendly and attentive. The exec room is very large and comfortable and although close to the road the double glazing keeps out the noise. The bed is comfortable and there is tea, coffee and water in the room and fresh milk is available if you want it.

Excellent 2 night DBB stay. Staff went out of their way (especially Murray) on our arrival to help with my wife's mobility problems. Extra chair taken to bedroom, thenmeal table and breakfast bar set up at nearest table to stairs. Excellent food. Pity about the steep stairs. Using "disabled access"notice on car park entrance meant steps down to hotel.

I am pleased to advise as a regular visitor that on every occasion I stay I find the Hotel to be Clean, Comfortable and enjoy a warm welcome fro efficient, professional happy staff that make my stay. The bonus is the exceptional dinning and breakfast fair with a fresh modern menu that does frequently change and offer new choices. The busy restaurant is a testament to the hotels wonderful food offering in a relaxed bar and dinning environment. So do not tell any one about this hotel just in case I can not get a room booking in the future. Enjoy.

My wife and I had the delightful pleasure of staying at this wonderful pub/hotel with two relatives recently. The pub and rooms are great, but the service is exceptional as is the food, the thoughtfulness of staff and the little extras that the hotel provides. My wife and I are on a medically supervised low Fodmap diet and therefore approach eating out with trepidation. I had phoned the hotel prior to our visit to give them a list of things we could not eat. Upon checking in I asked if our diet was going to be a problem. Later that evening, after a funeral, we discovered that, not only was it no problem, but they had printed out special menus for us with several suitable options for each course;even the complimentary appetisers had been given careful consideration. Throughout our sadly brief stay we continued to be delighted with the cheerful, friendly, efficient, thoughtful service received from every member of staff. Well done senior management, you obviously choose your staff carefully, look after them and train them well. We would all thoroughly recommend The Congresbury Arms, particularly if you have special dietary requirements. Look forward to visiting you again some time even if we don't need to be in the area for any particular reason. Many thanks for looking after us so well and making us feel special, instead of a nuisance with our dietary needs.

Staff were lovely;room was very comfortable;food was excellent, as was the real ale.Little touches like the snacks in the room, the delicious tasters from the kitchen while awaiting our meal, the offer of water for our long journey home and the concern for our relatives' dietary needs were so nice to experience.Just wish we lived nearer!

We were made to feel special from the moment we walked in. The room was immaculate with special details that you just don't get in other hotels like little jars of sweets and nuts, bottled water, luxury toiletries. The staff were all very friendly and couldn't do enough for us.We booked into the restaurant for dinner and were absolutely stunned by the quality of the food. Masterchef final standard of presentation and quality of ingredients. Again, we had little extra touches to make it more special like amuse bouche before the meal and homemade biscuit with coffee. We couldnt fault a thing. Also included in the very reasoable room rate was breakfast in the morning which included cereals, fruit and your choice from the cooked menu if you so wished.I would definitely stay here again and wouldn't hesitate at recommending it.
